A virtual power plant app, or VPP is a Network of Solar + Battery Systems working together as a single power plant.
Centrally controlled using WIFI technology and sophisticated software, the operator may discharge (sell) or charge your battery (buy) to/from the grid – and you’ll get paid for allowing the grid to access your battery power.
The power your solar panels generate during the day is stored in your battery – rather than being exported to the grid if unused. Battery power is then taken for grid events only to assist in stabilizing the Grid, where operators will raise or lower the frequency of electricity in the grid.
